Japanese automaker Toyota has announced an investment of $88 million USD to increase the production of gas-electric hybrid vehicles in the United States. The investment will be made at an engine factory in West Virginia, bringing the plant’s total investment to over $2 billion. This reinforces long-term job security for more than 2,000 team members. David Rosier, president of Toyota West Virginia, stated that this investment is another example of Toyota’s ’build where we sell’ philosophy and further proof of the company’s confidence in its team members. The move comes amidst a growing tariff war, showcasing Toyota’s commitment to expanding its hybrid vehicle output in the US.
